SMART IT People has a full-time Contracts Manager opportunity in Raleigh, NC.  Hybrid position requires 3 days/onsite, rest remote.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree and/or   graduation from an accredited paralegal program

- Experience working with electronic contracts management systems (preferably, Icertis)

- 5+ years contracts administrator/contracts manager in a corporate procurement or law department;  or similar experience working in a health care related company.

-  Demonstrated  project management, interpersonal, planning, organizational, time management   and decision-making skills, with the ability to develop education materials  and deliver training

-  Pharmaceutical/Bio-tech/Health care industry preferred

-  High level of proficiency with business   systems (Sharepoint, MS Word, PowerPoint; MS Excel)

-  Strong attention to detail.

-  Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

-  Willing to take initiative and be proactive

- Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment

- Ability to support, lead and effect transformational change efforts


Job description:

- Provide comprehensive and proactive contract and project management services. Key point of contact within the centralized contracts management model and will coordinate all contract review, approval, and signature activities

- Work wit.h third parties and internal clients daily and  coordinate closely with Sourcing, Finance and Legal on matters requiring negotiation, approval, and other contract-related issues.

- Manage the Icertis Contract Lifecycle Management system as system administrator. 

- Responsible for system upgrades, ongoing process improvements and enhancements, training users and new hires, assembling and collaborating with a cross-functional group of champions within the business, and working directly with the Icertis support team to troubleshoot any system issues. 

- Liaise with Finance and IT to ensure alignment between Icertis, SAP ERP and Ariba processes.


Contracting Process Management

- Manages the centralized contracting process, maintaining established policies and procedures, and managing the daily workflow of contract documents between project initiators, budget holders, administrative approvers, and third-party suppliers.  

- Engages relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal requirements and contract standards, consulting with Sourcing leadership, Legal and Finance on contract and system related issues, as necessary.

- Coordinates with Legal and Finance teams regarding the overall contracting and purchase order process and ensuring that necessary internal approvals are obtained, and contracts are executed by appropriate leadership, depending on financial commitments.  

 

CLM System Administration

- Serves as administrator, trainer, and process owner for the Icertis Contract Lifecycle Management system. Acts as primary liaison between company and Icertis.

- Identifies and implements agreed upon process improvements, in concert with Sourcing, Legal and Finance teams.

- Manages, develops, and provides on-going training of new hires, managers, directors, and executives with respect to contracting practices and procedures.

-  Serves as Project Manager for implementation and  launch of any upgrades or enhancements made   to the Icertis CLM system that are introduced to streamline and automate the management of contracts throughout the organization.  


Strategic   Contracting Services 

- Works independently with business partners and the Legal department.

- Conducts contract strategy meetings to identify issues and client requirements, facilitate discussions, and obtain business partners’ input on timelines and deliverables, when required.

- May draft or modify existing contractual provisions based on strategy discussions, stakeholder input, and organizational needs and expectations, for review and approval by Sourcing and/or Legal.

- Updates Sourcing and Legal in meetings on contract status and system matters, as required.
