Product Owner, Enterprise Architecture

SMART IT People has a contract opportunity for a Product Owner who will be responsible for managing the product development process as it pertains to custom developed tools. This is done by gathering feature requests, communicating user needs to the development team, and ensuring the final product aligns with expectations, essentially acting as the voice of the customer within the development process; Product Owners work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver value throughout the product lifecycle, utilizing Agile methodologies.
This role requires knowledge of the business processes, tools, and workflows supported by the Enterprise Architecture team while performing detail-oriented tasks and successful practices. The Product Owner will facilitate the development of solutions to fix process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation workflow opportunities in the development process.
This role will give you project management opportunities, business analytical skills, communication, and meeting organization, along with technical and management developmental skills.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Agile principles and practices like Scrum

- Prior experience particularly in the data center industry
Job description:
- Collaborate with your immediate team as well as Vice Presidents, directors, and managers
- Ability to analyze, map and speak-to key data points across IT systems supported by Enterprise Architecture
- Work with development team to help create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog by defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and dependencies to ensure the team understands what needs to be built.
- Gather feedback from customers, stakeholders, and other teams to inform product direction and prioritize features based on business value.
- Collaborate with the development team to plan sprints, estimate effort, and set realistic goals for each iteration.
- Work with team to define release plans and ensure timely delivery of product increments.
- Champion user needs and advocate for a positive user experience throughout the development process.
- Inform and educate other business areas as to impact of decision.
- Perform product demonstrations of the Services Portal for both internal and external stakeholders, as well as potential customers.
- Manage relationships with integration partners, tracking end-of-life, API updates, and/or any event that could adversely impact the development cycle.
